Our hero, first seen in Dell’s Rage, is injured when her friend is kidnapped and taken off to an isolated compound of fanatics.

Friends she can relate to are hard to come by and she will not give this one up easily. Dell locates the victim with help from a tribal police captain she has worked with before, along with a deputy from a neighboring county.

She is furious when her friend refuses rescue, and confused when the deputy lending a hand begins flirting with her.

Dell has reason to distrust her relationships with men, and is unsure of how to respond to this one.
